Mr Simon Lam is Co-Chief Executive Officer and Board of Director of China Pacific Life Insurance (H.K.) Company Limited. He was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, Business Development, Hong Kong and Taiwan of Munich Re Hong Kong Branch, responsible for Munich Re Hong Kong and Taiwan’s traditional business operation. He has over 25 years of experience in life insurance industry and managing reinsurance business in both Hong Kong and Taiwan and insurance operations in both Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Mr Lam was President for the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (ASHK) in 2018 and 2023 and served for Council since 2013. In 2020, he published Hong Kong Mortality Table (Hong Kong Assurance Mortality Table 2018) and successfully orchestrated the prestigious Asia Actuarial Conference in 2024, drawing over 1,000 distinguished participants globally. In the last decade, he has chaired several ASHK committees including Asian Actuarial Conference Special Project Team, Strategy and Statutory Path Committee, Life Committee and Membership and Communication, Secretary and Treasury. Currently, he is Council Member for Life Insurance Council, The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers. Besides, he was the Chairperson of Greater Asia Committee, the Society of Actuaries from 2019 to 2021 and Chairperson of Task Force on Risk-Based Capital Framework in The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers from 2020 to 2021. He has been awarded as one of twelve 2024 Outstanding Volunteers from the Society of Actuaries globally.

Mr Lam is an Adjunct Professor in The University of Hong Kong, Adjunct Associate Professor in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Adjunct Assistant Professor in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also served as an honorary lecturer in The University of Hong Kong from 2008 to 2016, an external examiner for the Society of Actuaries’ University-Earned Credit (UEC) program for the University of Hong Kong, an external examiner and an advisor in Hang Seng Management College’s Independent Accreditation Panel to develop its Insurance and Actuarial Science Program, and was a guest lecturer and industrial advisor in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman from 2009 to 2010 in Malaysia. From 2020 to 2026, he was appointed as external member of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Applied Mathematics in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also the executive member of Chinese Academy of Governance (HK) Industrial and Commercial Professionals Alumni Association Ltd and member of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association and Hong Kong Academy of Finance.

Mr Lam received an Executive Master of Business Administration in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Science) degree from the University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries, Charter Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager, Fellow of Life and Management Institute and Fellow of Life and Health Claim.
